The dates that matter

Deadlines set by the call and by electoral law. The one people most often miss: a postal vote has to be requested in time.

  1. The convocation decree is published in the official gazette and takes effect.Past
  2. Window for parties to file their candidate lists with the provincial electoral boards.Next
  3. Election campaign: fifteen days, starting on day 38 after convocation.
  4. Last day to request a postal vote at a post office.
  5. No election polls may be published in the five days before the vote.
  6. Reflection day: no campaigning.
  7. Election day. Polling stations open 9:00 to 20:00.
